Nestled in a bay on Lake Opinicon, just outside Upper Davis Lock Bay on the Rideau Canal, lies a tiny island that has been a haven of love and laughter for many years. This painting captures the serene moment just after sunset, when the sunbathers, boaters, and swimmers have retreated indoors. The lake is calm, and though the gathering continues within the cozy cabin, we only catch a glimpse of the warm light inside. The subtle chatter of family and friends fills the evening air.
